What did you do to your slick that you wish you didn't do?

Just read Pat's reply on the ad for the F-350. He mentioned it was nice they put the radio below the dash, instead of cutting it up. It got me to thinking, I did just the opposite. Mine didn't have a radio, and like the truck in the ad, had a bracket and radio below the dash. I cut the dash, and installed a radio, though I put in a radio from a slick. These days, I wish I hadn't. My truck already had an antennae and hole cut in the cowl, so not having a radio seen (I'd have hidden the radio if not using an original), would have looked a little funny I guess.

It got me to wondering, what has anyone else done to their slick, that in hindsight, wished they hadn't. Ch#@y motor, something like that?

Traffic on the site's been a little slow, and maybe this topic will live for a little while....

I wish I had paid attention one day when backing outta the Sears loading dock, was looking over my right shoulder cut the wheel a little too much and put the drivers fender into a concrete pillar. That was very first dent in my truck.....straight as an arrow for fifty years till that day......

I went to all of the trouble getting the gear and lightning bolt embossed on the upper seat panel from SMS in Oregon and then used fabric from the local upholstery shop. I've often why I didn't order the correct seat fabric too. I even got samples from SMS first. It was a long time ago, but I just can't remember why I did it. The local stuff looks good, but it's not the original stuff like SMS has.

Probably should have spent more time doing body work before paint
I'm ok with it.... but 8 more hours ... one day .... would have made
Some places on it much better ...
But... it's blue ... and it drives down the road

Some times I wish I had spent the time to convert to 1/2 ton. Then stretched it out long and LOW, it really was a great body to start with. But then again I can pull a dozen slicks and not hurt the MPG , oh and body work, I don't attempt it.

PS... Biggest Regret, not filming the wife's first Ride it it! PRICELESS,

That forced smile like a little kid on their first roller coaster, will she regret going? Is that screaming turbo going to suck her in? Do the brakes really work? Why didn't she put on a seat belt? Does the passenger door still spring open, one once in a while, like before?!

I have heard more than one person that really regretted doing any major paint and body to a truck they have inherited.. or belonged to a relative... Just wasn't the same.
