Need help with a ford related project...

Post by brandonperkins777 »

Recently, I started helping a friend with a unique and difficult project. I understand that this site is for fords from the 60's, however I don't know where else to turn. He bought a '59 Edsel corsair 4 door, and we need help finding sheet metal replacement parts for it since the rust has taken its toll over the years. If anyone knows any place that sells parts, such as rockers, that would be helpful. We tried Mac's auto and they have some parts needed but not all, and after looking around for about 2 months now, we are both stumped on where to find sheet metal for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

From what I have seen on the Internet 59 is the most under served year.
A quick ebay search "Edsel panel" turned up a few items, quality is a big question mark.

Also found a discussion here.

Good luck and I have No actual experience with any of these parts or suppliers.

Also a reference from Edsel.com

"Look to the 1959 Ford for much of the 1959 Edsel parts. Engine, transmissions and differentials are nearly or exactly the same as Ford. Sheet metal from Ford is the same, except for the trunk bed - Ford's has a spare tire well while Edsel's spare laid flat.

So C&G ford parts may be able to provide some floor braces , listed as 57-59 passenger car

Hope I found more than you had so far...

There is a salvage yard in NC that has Edsel parts. www.richardsclassiccars.com Take a look at his web-site. He has stuff that no-one has.
