Those magnificent men in their flying machines

Post by slick4x4 »

A group of Engineering professors were invited to fly in a plane.
Right after they were comfortably seated,
they were informed the plane was built by their students.
All but one got off their seats
and headed frantically to the exits in maniacal panic.
The one lone professor that stayed put,
calmly in his seat,
was asked: “Why did you stay put?”
“I have plenty of confidence in my students.
Knowing them, I for a fact can assure you
this piece of crap plane will never even start”

Dont blame it all on every teacher ....
My son started teaching welding shop last year....
Only 3 boys out of 20 in the 9th grade class
Could read a tape measure
......
A lot of them can't do simple fractions ....
Stuff we learned (50 years ago) in 2nd grade
.....
Last week he told me a senior (18 year old)
Did not know what 3x5 was
He had to use his phone (calculater)
To figure it out

:(

I know .....
I do not exaggerate when I say
I could teach a kid more life skills in 4 weeks
Then what they learned in 13 years of public school

In my opinion
Knowing how to change a light switch
Is more important than who the 14th president was.

It's all the parents fault ha ha. I was not taught much at home and had to figure a lot out myself. A lot of times I would hang around a guy like Pat while he was calling me stupid for not knowing basic stuff and I would tolerate that so long as I learned something. When I was 16 my dad called me the stupidest kid he ever heard of. I calmly and VERY quickly replied "if I am so stupid keep in mind your the dad who was supposed to teach his boy everything he knows". I am still waiting for his response. I am possibly mid 40's now but my true age is a secret.

I don't call anybody stupid that has a desire to learn
Not knowing something isn't being stupid
Not knowing something is being ignorant
I'm ignorant on things like politics , geography, ancient history .....
.....
People will learn if they want to...
A teachers job should be to make things interesting to learn
