Valve cover breather/oil fill

Post by shipwrecked »

Question- shouldn't the breather/oil fill fit snug when twisted and locked in?

This one I got from Dennis carpenter wiggles on here. I ran the engine the other day and it just loosened itself completely. Moment I get it on the road, I'd lose it!

Got a known good brand?
The engine came from a 60 f100.

there is a gasket under it. it's like the thing is too tall.

I am going to try something. I went on ebay and ordered a nos cap for a galexie. i know this engine came from a truck, but the aftermarket cap i bought was for a 60 truck (which this is from).

You might try a thicker gasket or bend the tabs a little.

Yep
The tabs can get bent & make it not fit tight
