WELL, looks beautiful... but heavy as hell. I see no need for a 2 inch thick laminated bed floor in my truck... that weighs 500lbs...

Yellow pine for a bowling lane? I can't imagine using a softwood for bowling on!! Seems THAT lane would have been beat all to heck!

the 16 foot sectons are 500 lb., 8 foot would only be 250 lb, just right for the needed traction on the rear axle. the 2" thickness would be just about right for height of the bed too considering the stock design of the stepside bed floor.
would definitely be good for a flatbed.

also i thought there were some pines considered hardwood.

The first 6-8 feet or so where the ball lands are maple(?) on bowling lanes, the rest is pine. This is why they don't like "ball lofting" if the ball is airborne too long it lands on the softer wood.

250 lbs aint too bad. hell, that's right decent to get some traction going on.
I think the original planks are only 1 inch thick, but I'm sure you could probably make it work out. It will likely be really nice...

yeah, it would be KILLER for a flatbed... Or your livingroom.
