National is the ONLY way to go for one-way car rentals...done it many times for business. NO drop off charges.

I will come and be your personel driver and use my own Taurus for that kind of money. Those prices are ludicrous. I hope you can find better prices.
You are right you could hit a used car lot buy a cheap car and just leave it at the airport parking lot when you leave.

that is really insane.

i had not planned on renting a car for myself, i realize some have no choice but i figured i could make it without?

besides, who even rents slicks?
i am not very comfortable driving new cars at all. last drove a taurus about 8 years ago (1 time about 10 miles) .
just too used to slicks, bumps and bigger trucks.

Iceman, Know what you are talking about there. As of late, I hired on to shuttle cars around for Enterprise. They are all 2007 or 2008 models, and I really don't like to drive them.

Alan, I checked with my manager as to your situation. He said the standard rate would be 165 per day, but the vehicle has to be turned in at the place you got it at.

Yeah the boarder guard wouldn't realize I was smuggling in the truck!

Bit like the night watchman on a building site let one of the workers take a wheelbarrow of sand out every night, till they realized they didn't have any wheelbarrows left! :lol:

There is a 1965 truck here in Spokane Washington on Craigs list for $300.00
It is a runner driver. I am going to look at it in the next few days and if it is what he says it is I will buy it. Would you like to rent the truck??? All it would cost you would be the fuel you used. Would mean changing your flight plans but it could be worth it and you would be driving a Slick.

I made mine back in March, and called a week ago to check back and make sure they still had it. They did, so all is good.
