I'd have to send myself back to school just to learn how to play with that stuff. That's one happy and lucky fella there. Makes a fella kinda jealous now don't ya know.
You could make a whole slick in that shop.

My buddy has a 5000 sq. ft. garage with 30 ft. ceilings. He has so many cars (90+ Corvettes, Camaros) and NOS parts that he cannot fit all of his stuff in his garage. He has many truck trailers on his property for storage. He has 4 or 5 roll-away toolboxes, Bridgeport mills, a couple of sandblast cabinets (one big enough to put a hood in), welders, air compressors, solvent tanks, etc. At one end, he's got 3 stories of shelved, inventoried NOS parts.
I like to go visit him :)

Guess I misread the post. So you're still amongst us mortals. At least you have a garage.

The owner (OldCarGuy) is a fortunate son of a gun. Wonder if he could whip out a set of chrome trim for my slick? Surely there's a "molding maker" in amongst all that equipment.

The owner of that garage, is not only fortunate, but smart. He started planning the build years ago. He joked around that he is spending his kids inheritance. He is very smart in the way he handeled his finances. I am trying to get my dad to spend and enjoy the money he made over the years now that he is retired.

I've seen that. He posted on the GARAGE JOURNAL site a couple years ago...19 pages & 2 years later, they're still talking about Old Car Guy's killer setup!
Smart? Yes, the man's VERY smart.

Oh & speaking of cool garages...go take a leak, grab a beer & kick back for another long thread on something cool. 8)
While it's not necessarily over the top in normal garage status, what's underneath in the BUNKER GARAGE sure is worth the time spent reading. :D

These garages are definitely things to drool over! One thing I have to wonder is if these guys bleed 100 dollar bills when they are cut?!? Sheesh! I just don't have that kind of money, and I don't believe I ever will!

garages

Post by Truckrat »

What really sucks the most about all of this is most of us will never have all that, and are just lucky to have a garage to work in. The other thing is having to wait until retirement to have it. I would like to build a shop, but don't have the room. I would have to get an acreage and then build a shop on it. :P Not sure when or IF that will ever happen. That guy with all the machinery certainly is one fortunate man.
Must be one very wealthy dude to have all that stuff, and the funds to build all those buildings. I just fell lucky to have what I do. If I ever get anywhere near that level, I will have to win big on Powerball. TR

we were talking heat when on of the guys put this up:
reedspaint wrote:Radiant heaters work great and are reasonable. You can get them to use propane, natural gas or oil. I have 4 and only use 2 of them most of the time to heat a 50'x75'xgarage. If your ceilings are high enough then ceiling fans help alot. You can see the heaters mounted on the ceiling in this picture.
