I dont suppose that it was such a busy and dangerous intersection that there was a traffic camera? They seem to be more common these days. Now a camera takes a picture and the computer can send a ticket to you. More donut time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sounds like an easy one to get out of to me. I'd def. fight it. I bet the cop doesn't even show up. In WA if that happens, you automatically get off.

Don't send the ticket back, requesting a court date...keep the ticket & call the chicks at the office after 10 days (or however many days it sez on the ticket) to request a court date.

Go into court with your guns loaded & give the judge your side of the story. The officer will be summoned to atted also, however, sometimes they are too busy to show & contest the ticket. In that case, you're at the mercy of the judge, who will usually work with you on the charge, to a degree.

Doc,

Unless the issuing officer can prove what he claims you you did, with
some sort of imperical evidence demonstrating your alleged violation,
& not simply rhetorical assumption on his part, you should be able have
it dismissed for "Lack of evidence". :thumright:

To "Iron Clad" your case put the "WIDE TURNS" sticker Iceman mentions
on the Van take a photo so tag shows too. Present that to the magistrate.

secret.gif That's imperical on your behalf.

IMO: if it's not too much of a hassle to get off work, then you should fight it.

If you pay a traffic ticket down here without going to court, you can plead "no contest." Which is technically different from "guilty." But the result is the same.

Is that how it works in AZ? If so, would the boss distinguish between no contest and guilty?

I say it's worth a shot.

i think ots a bit unusual for the cops to even pull over a muni van especially if its lettered or logo.

I would think the way you explained it to us would do pretty well. Maybe Dunkin Donuts was out of his favorite flavor of jellies that morning.

Doc Pepper wrote:The ticket says "Improper position: right turn,"
Well I read that 2 ways:
1) "Improper position" I am positive that had something to do with the loose nut behind the wheel.

2) "Right turn" Was a reference to Fido Biddoe. Unfortunatly for you, you must not own an orangutang!

Doc,
The Motorcycle cops seem to live in their own little rose colored world. I would guess they all picture themselves as CHIPs. Years ago, when I was driving 18 wheelers, one of them pulled me over in Phoenix cause he didn't like how the tires were squished and thought I was surely overweight(the tires were low profile), anyhow, It cost me about two hours time and cost the city of Phoenix the same amount of time for their mobile weight crew to come out and weigh me. All for naught, and because of the dipstick on the motorcycle with his lights. Fight it.
