How does LMC door and windsheild seals compare to Dennis Carpenters?

Windshield and rear window fit ok, I have them on my truck. I think everybody will agree that their door seals do NOT fit. I made the mistake of installing mine and then I couldn't even begin to close the door after.

LMC door seals do not fit, trust me!!!!

Carpenter stuff fits like factory :D

Thanks, that is what I thought. I had the problem before too. But I know some places just resold Dennis Carpenters(must be Carolina Classics). Did not know if LMC was one of them. I was looking a package deal of parts on Ebay. There was a complete set of gaskets along with door kits. I need both. But not with the LMC rubber

Thansk again

Kaylle, at least one of the vendors does a package deal when it comes to weatherstripping. Might be the place out of Virginia? Anyone know if Carolina Classics does a package deal on weatherstripping?

Give Blue Oval a try. That is what I used when I did the 61 resto. Fit really good I thought. I don't remember for sure but I think the kit was drop shipped from Dennis Carpenter. Price wasn't out of line at the time either.

This is what I was looing at.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... =p3907.m29

I'm going buy all new weather stripping since I'm getting the truck painted. Dennis Carpenter sell complete sets of rubber. Which I am going to buy. If the rubbers on ebay would have been D.C.s. I would have considered buying the package from this guy. It would have been nice to have the window tracks. They are not cheap

ARGH! Why didn't somebody tell me that before I bought the LMC weatherstrip?

They offer a kit that's the windshield, back glass, the cowl felt and the doors for like 80 bucks or something. I got it, but haven't put it on yet...guess I'll find out tomorrow. :?

not supposed to talk business?

far as i am concerned anyone offering any part for sale in the classifieds is business.i dont see your sales as being any different from anyone elses on here and besides its not like you have a big flashing sign under your signature saying buy from Tom my parts are better or cheaper or whatever.

common sense dictates if the parts are not made in the USA by a reputable firm you are gambling and you really should ask the seller anyway and be aware.
honest sellers will tell you if its imported or not and likely the price will reflect the quality of the part.

i got my door and window seals from Macs, LONG before i discovered DC. The vent rubbers went to rot in about 1 year. absolute dog crap. The door seals.... about like LMC I guess. I installed the driver's, had to slam the livin hell out of it for like 2 years to get it to even consider closing. I still have to slam it too hard, but it closes now. Still leaks though... go figure.

The driver's was such a bitch, I still haven't done the passenger side.

I think DC is the best place goin right now. They got the coolest dash knobs too. Sadly I bought a few from Mac's- with the original style plastic inserts that look factory, but yellowing plastic that will fall out some day. The DC ones are cast "full" inside, and are painted to simulate the inserts. Absolutely beautiful.

The only thing I positively recall buying from LMC was a set of repro door mirrors (the ones on the little wings). They look beautiful, but the stupid Taiwanese bastards made it METRIC! And I don't know the adjustment range of the original ones, but I can't really tilt it in far enough to actually be able to see anything useful in it. Were the originals like this, or is this an artifact of crap?
