Hey guys cheek out the rare 65? f100 with a fiftys style bed. Ebay item #23221848848. I emailed the owner and was informed that it was indeed a 65 with modified grill and badges plus the bed is off a 56. It still looks like a 64 that wastitled as a 65.

Are you sure you didn't mean item #230221848848? Here's the LINK to what I "think" is the right auction...

Its rare allright the cab looks like a 63 I think I would beware of what lies under the red paint.

Actually, that bed looks correct. It's the same bed that's on my 62 F-250. I think a lot of folks are thrown off by the long bed stepside. You just don't see them too often.

I agree, that bed's probably stock. Ai also agree that the way the paint's done, it's probably hiding a few things. But it would make a nice driver. :)

The truck is a 63. The emblems, grille, three hole front bumper, steering column, step up cab, straight front axle and 292 all make it a pre 65. The vin is a 65, but I'd ask to check the frame number before I gave him a nickel for it. He probably has a title and vin tag for a 65 and either thinks its a 65 or is trying to unload it as a 65.

I agree with Tomsrod and add:
The wiper and light switches are reversed and the hubcaps are innie tabs (I know these two things would be an easy change, but why, if it's a '65?). Also battery tray location is pre '65. And it has rounded inner fenders. My guess is the doors have been switched out (driver's door at least) and don't match the frame rail VIN.

definatley a bondo job 63. The door steps are caked with bad filler and so is the bed. definatley trying to hide rust. The truck is a 63 long stepside but is a rot bucket with bad repairs.

I agree with the above 2 guys and add that IF it was a '65 (which it is NOT, it would have twin I beam suspension in addition to all that has been said) but IF it was a 65 it should have a 240 six.

I don't think that you could get a longbed flareside F-100 in any slick. I think they had to be F250 or bigger to get that box. If it is a stcok box for an F-100 it would be rare as a '63, which it is, but not necessarily desirable.

Too much monkey business for me to be involved with. Image

Check out this other rust bucket the same seller is trying to pawn off. Bet there isn't a seam not rusted out or a torque box left on this gem

that truck is far from frame off , bondo in the lower door hinges, stepside floors are suppose to have bed strips, junkie chains for the tailgate, ugly looking tail lights frame is far from being clean, springs looks like they are flaten out on rear, I'LL PASS,

Didn't anyone notice they took great pains to bondo in the fender to grill header panel and the seam over the back window? I'll bet they even filled in all of the roof rail rust holes too.
They made some step sills to hold down the carpet.
Added the chrome air cleaner and labeled the engine with custom decals. (292-V8 rules!)
Bet that steering wheel make it handle like it's on rails.
And that shifter...Must make it scratch in 2nd cuz it's chrome! (regardless of whether the air flowing through the boot feels like A/C or not!)

In the first engine shot (highlighting the spiffy valve cover decal);
Did anyone else notice the cowl tag?
Is this common on the pre 64 trucks?
My 64 didn't have one and no rivet holes in that location.

That Bloke at least shows he has taste, He`s got a slick and a mustang. Oh well mostly a slick and whats left of a mustang. Don`t ya love the way they always show the speedo only 36766.9 miles 7th time round, the seat recover was done by a nurse and she did hospital folds on the corners.

Alan,

Some body will buy that mustang. It's already at 900, if it was rustfree here it would be 9,000.
