Next project

Post by f100matt »

I almost have my 66' back on the road and am thinking of my next project. I was thinking of building a 66' 4x4 using a latter model 4x4 chassy, 76 highboy?? What modifications would i need to make for a 66' cab and bed? Also i was thinking about a crew cab, its probaly way out of my skill level, but has anyone here built a crew cab out of a couple old cabs? Just an idea.

Matt, if you want to build a 4x4 on a later model chassis use a cab from a 65/66 f100 or 250 2 wd as the cab mounts line up and if you stay in the earlier highboy like 72 the bed will be closer to the wb.
the factory 66 f250 4x4 uses the early cab and fridge or flareside bed
67 up the styleside bed will fit.

i put an early cab on a 72 highboy frame, lots of messing around with mounts and steering, would not do again.
i have a 65 f100 cab and bed that i am going to put on a 70 highboy.
first i am going to finish the 61 f500 4x4.
was out looking at it right before reading your post thinking how much i would like to have it running.
