my 62 F350

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

got this truck last fall, $50 with title.
was out cleaning up and investigating things needed to get it driveable today.
front clip is whacked ,except the core is good and not rusted. the rest is pretty clean.i have a hood for it.

was working for a trans shop in Texas at one time
[albumimg]3848[/albumimg]

still has paint under here
[albumimg]3841[/albumimg]

real glass lights

bed plate

back
[albumimg]3843[/albumimg]
10K pto winch in the front of the bed.
headache rack needs to be fixed or replaced.

inside
some surface rust on the pass side but still pretty solid.
[albumimg]3844[/albumimg]

no hacks in dash and good windshield
[albumimg]3845[/albumimg]

heres the repair spot on the drivers side, not real bad.
keeping the crap cleaned out of the cowl will go along way in preventing that.
[albumimg]3846[/albumimg]

this part is irritating, NEVER wrap a chain around here and pull. not my doing but i will have to fix it.
[albumimg]3847[/albumimg]

the truck was used as a filing cabinet too. heres some of the things i found

paper tag from Texas

i have a front clip from a 65 f350 i could use and a running 292 to bolt in.
of course i used the 62 grille years ago on my 66 4x4.
suppose i could put the 65 upper valance and a 66 grille on my 66, did not have good ones at the time. still have a NOS 63 grille too.

i think i should be driving it before SS.

Nice looking project, Ice. :D
That Ebay truck is cool, especially the wooden side trim to tie in the wood bed. :thumright:

well ,yes the $50 hurt. just a little because of the circumstance but i got over it.

the column is the stock f350/4x4 type.

i got the truck from the estate of the person that bought it in Texas in 86.Garbz would have had to own it before that.

really sad thing though could happen to anyone with a lot of trucks including me ,is the owner died leaving a large collection of vehicles.they were not rich and his widow could not afford to pay to have them hauled off nor use them as most were project types except the f350 which he drove up here when they moved. so i gave her something for the f350 and my friend with the towtruck made her a special deal on hauling off the rest.a few were sold so both her and my friend made a little $.
