same here charlie just got done with insulating as well.
Next my uni might go to the paint shop for some room in the garage and a friend is extremely slow but i am trying to hold him off until next winter.
But while the uni is still here lets get some trucks out and blow the dust off them.

Well, tried to fire up the Mustang tonight, I think I have the wiring right. Put a batt. in it.. nothing. with the key in run I get juice on the I post of the solenoid, when I turned it over to start had juice at the s post and starter side of the solenoid. But nothing from the starter and don't hear any clicking fr the solenoid. tried jumping over the solenoid and nothing. How do you check a starter? You know my vast mechanical skills.

Charlie, before you remove the starter, just hook a jumper cable to the starter cable on the solenoid and touch it to the + terminal on the battery. This will bypass ALL other wiring. Starter should turn over motor. Make sure you have a good engine ground. Even hook the other cable from "-" terminal to engine block.
If it still doesnt turn over, then its time to remove the starter and hook the cables from the battery to it. Make sure you have it held down because it WILL take off if its working.

Thanks Rob and Tim, will give it a try, will report back later, if I don't drown in my yard. Animals are starting to line up in pairs outside of my boat.

Well me and the 64 are woke up. Just been running her to keep limbered up. Had to make some room for another addition to the collection.( nothing got sold). Picked up a 60 f100 longbed with a 223 i6 and factory 4 on the floor.(goes with my 60 Galaxie) Needs cosmetics but body is straight and it runs and stops good. Only rust is on drivers fender. Will keep posted on the progress. Steve.

Charlie , Also before you take it off. Try lightly tapping on it with a hammer. Might be stuck from sitting so long. Sounds like the solenoid may be stuck to. You should have heard it click. Deal with the starter first though. Dale

I took the starter off, stuck it in a vise. tryed grounding the case and touching the hot post with jumper cables and nothing, so tried it with a coupla old starters I had around and still nothing, I'll get a spark but thats it. If the starter I took off is messed up that would suck because it looks brand new and never used.
Charlie

Maybe I should just fix the rust, I know how to do that

I'm ready. Looking forward to a MAC event. My truck went for some paint work today. (finally) He is going to paint everything under the hood, behind the grill, and the back side of the cab.

Here is a few pics,

P.S. I am getting back some venison kielbasa this week and I'll save a few rings for the MACsters.
