Eh guys long time no post for me. Into a huge house renovation :? 8)

Any ways,I was wondering if anyone has pics of their trucks that are lowered that only had to C notch their frame a bit and didn't have to take any material out of the bed of the box.
kinda don't wannt cut the bed right now but I want the truck pretty damn low.
Thanx,

Shiny, there is no real answer to your question, tire diameter, rim size, and an axle flip or not will also play in to this. With the right combination you can get real low with only a "C" notch though. If this helps: I am holding off buying tires/rims until I get the rest of my suspesion done so I can make final adjustments to my height/rake with them.

easiest answer: measure the gap between the punkin and the floor of the bed. That is EXACTLY how far you can go.

Now if you get closer than full suspension compression, you're gonna get a nice punkin shaped dent on the floor of the bed.... similar to my Ibeam shaped crease on the edge of my oil pan up front...

Just cut it, you know you want to.

Besides, if you really want it low you will have to cut it at some point. You can always add a cover.

Hey, That truck looks ......... Oh yea that's mine!

Actually it's step notched. I could have c-notched it but I was going to have to cut the bed for the pumkin, and I figured if I were to lower it more later on I would already have a step in it.

Yea I'm on the HAMB quite a bit, and I remember seeing a post of someone refrencing this sight once, and telling them about it, but it was directed to someone else.

As for the truck it was just an idea, and it worked out, but thanks for the comment on the truck!

It works out so well there is a 99% chance I am doing the same thing.

I didn't do it on my '66 but....

I dropped my '81 6" in the rear (5" in the front). I used a flip kit and had to put a mild notch in the frame. I could of got maybe an inch or two more without needing to make a hump for the centersection. I would have needed a deeper notch though.

I don't know how to post picturs yet but will work on getting one posted.

Had to notch bed on my 63,but I also added new upper shock mount, plus my bed was fubared from rust,it would have barley cleared without my shock crossmember though,I know it rides a helluva lot better slammed, well worth it.Image
