Anyone know anything about this transmission?

Remarks include: "Rebuilt late 63 or early 64 F100 fully synchronized 3 speed. These 3 speeds were used behind 292 V8 engines or 223 6 cylinder engines in 63 and 64. They were used with bellhousings that had the rear mounts on them so there is no mount on the rear of the transmission itself. This will bolt up to 54-62 F100's with 239, 272, 292, or 223 6 cylinders. I believe that it will also bolt up to the 53 F100 with the flathead 239. The only modifications needed are to replace the rear yoke and shorten the drive shaft roughly 3 inches."

PM Skip "Uncle Skip" Porterfield. He has done this conversion in the past and can provide you all the details. Not to difficult just need to scrounge the correct parts and mate the top correctly.
Most of the trans missions used were top loaders, wether 3 speeds or 4 speeds. Other manufacturers used the Warner or ford units in thier products as an outsource.. Jeep is one of those as you find ford and Mopar trannies in them...AMC used the "why reinvent the wheel logic"

Sent him and e-mail. Skip's very clever and always willing to help out if he has the time.DocDave wrote:If Skip gives you the skinny on that conversion ask him to post it into the tips section. I want a floor shift 3 speed.
