I have the same project in the works With a 65 Crew......

I'm upgrading the drivetrain to 1990 Axles and an NV4500 Tranny

It will be my tow rig when Done, and occasionally Tow the 65 Flareside Shorty to Shows.....:)

I'm lookin for a 4BT to put in my '66 Merc 2wd crew. Dan, give us some details on the swap, parts etc.
I'll prolly put my other '65 Crew on a cummins chassis.

Just curious - What type of vehicle has a 4 cylinder Cummins B-series? That would be a very nice fit in a slick!

That bump is cool nice work. The Isuzu engine looks like a good one to go with. It will get great mileage. 8) :D :D :D

The 4BT's came in Frito Lay trucks, Bread trucks and Some UPS trucks to name a few.

Mine is a 105HP non-intercooled version that came out of a ford chassis delivery van. Ill be using a Ford smallblock bellhousing adpater and a NP435 trans with a Advance Adpaters Ranger overdrive in front of the transmission. This will give me 8 forward gears and 2 reverse. I am going to use late 80's early 90's 300 six motor mounts and build my own brackets for the frame and engine.

I converted my truck to an F250 to help support the added weight up front and extra torque out back. :D

I am going to put the engine in with no mods and drive it first then make modifications for more power such as adding an intercooler, different turbo and tweaking the pump and injectors.

As I mentioned earlier I would like to start on it within the next month and I will take pictures as I go. :D

I've considered a cummins swap into my '65 F-250 but I think the turbo 351 based stroker will pull just as good and I'll still have the option for a 6 speed manual trans

fordcummins.com is a very helpful site

Any updates on any of these? My blown out knee has kept me from starting on my Cummins / Slick Crewcab swap

I would love to see some done too. I'm going to put a 12v 6 cylinder in my 63 crew cab. Going to make it into a short bed 4x4 with 3/4 ton suspension. I was going to put a 4bt and 2wd but my friend put one in his gmc and couldn't pull as much as I need to. Gets good mileage though!
