Pat summed it up quite perfectly if you ask me.

slick4x4 wrote:seemed quite amazing to me...... i was a first timer there, by the second day, felt like i was with a bunch of old friends.....guess i was, just had never met em yet.

x3 for me. I knew some folks from Texas already that came up, but the only one I had actually met before in person was Truckfarmer. I had spoken with Gerry and Greg D. on the phone beforehand, and some of the folks on chat. But putting names and faces together was great fun. I was so glad I came and as Pat said, "Felt like I was with a bunch of old friends that I had not met!" Looking forward to 2010 in Iowa. No Canucks or Okies without trucks, and no Iceman without truck either, right Brian? ss_pokes2.gif TR

as far as driving a slick to SlickStock , its great to see so many
varieties of trucks there , but dont feel like you ''have too''
i only had to drive 200 miles..... if i had to drive 500 , probably wouldnt.
and i would have missed 1 heck of a good time.

i got to ride along with a "wrong sided" driver all the way thru downtown kc and didn't even freak out. one of the highlights for me. lol.
i wasn't very active on the forums until after ss.
this is truely one of the best bunch of folks on the interwebz and in person! and i don't even own a slick.

They had beer. :D So I came.

LOL, seriously I felt like Pat at SS1, even more so at SS2, and really enjoyed myself at SS3. There were even 3 other guys who didn't have an accent, last time.
SS4 I have to bring a truck to. Guess I'll have to drink coffee with Mike.

was cool driving your mustang in KC too.
not many people going to let an Alaskan and an Australian loose in their brand new car.

:D That's true Brian!, Chris said to me you can drive the Mustang, and I said OK!, but in the excitement I got in the wrong side!!!!!!!,probably for the best, left hand gear change no a good feeling! :?

Haha Alan. If Chris would have said "put the boots to it" would you have got in the trunk?

Johnno, my start by saying I like your season choice of avatar!

Now as for the trunks ( also know as swimmers, budgie smugglers, tog`s, boardies, cozies and bathers!), they did have a pool at HoJo`s, but Chris and I were never near it!,so swimming apparel was not discussed, I did however explain to them what Budgie smugglers were  and they told me what the term catching the short or small bus to school mean`s a deep and meaningful exchange of sayings 8)

i still can't get the mental image of what "budgie smugglers" are. i think i need counseling. thanks for the graphic description alan. i will never be right again.

brian, i have never been afraid to drive, or have my cars driven. after all, that's what they are for. i am more paranoid about my 40 year old pickup than i am about my less than year old mustang.

drive it like you stole it!

650 (est.) days is way too long to watch that. i think it makes the winters seem longer too.
