pics of my "new" truck
Hi all,
I'm still new here but have received some very good info and advice from the group and it has been much appreciated.
here's a link to my photobucket account showing some pics of the truck after I cleaned it up a little last night.
I've had it about a week and a half now.

the next task is to start cleaning up the engine and degreasing everything and then tackle the headliner.

It's actually Thunderbird red.jeffw wrote:very nice truck what kinda red is that?
The original owner (still living here locally) special ordered it back in 1966.
Get this; The truck came with the following paperwork:
1. original worksheet (in pencil) the owner and salesman filled out with all the desired options. The salesman's name was 'Cotton Grove' - no lie.
2. original dealer invoice (typed and signed by the same salesman).
3. a bundle of receipts for anything and everything. Including a receipt stapled to a TG&Y newspaper ad for a new muffler.
4. dealer card with some sort of protecto-plate gizmo stuck to it.
5. of course, the owners manual, etc. The owner's manual was still in the manilla folder from the dealership.
Some of the options include heavy duty springs front and rear, the special order paint, heavy duty radiator, dual side tanks, flashers, undercoating, limited slip rear end, etc.
It was the gentleman's weekend fishing/hunting vehicle and sat in the garage 5 days a week. He had a camper (1968 picture was in the glovebox) on it and towed a bass boat with it.
He never appeared to haul much of anything in the bed because the original paint is still in the bed and mostly intact.
thanks to everyone for the nice compliments.

I'm in Goldsby Oklahoma.
Just south of Norman a few miles off I-35.
Lonnie - thanks for the compliment on the Olds. I had forgotten that was still on my photobucket account. I actually sold the Olds a while ago. Used some of that money to buy this truck and put the rest in my kid's college fund. Hated to lose the Olds but my government bailout hasn't arrived yet and tuition was due!
Gnant - I'll try to post a pic of the invoice and order sheet and get some pics of the side tanks for ya.
thanks again for all the nice compliments on my truck.

Great looking truck, sounds like it was a nice score!
Looks like the seat's been recovered, but they kept the upper rear portion with the gear & lightning logo? Cool!
