I had mentioned earlier that the sill plate I got from Carpenters is shorter than the original Looking at your latest pictures I notice that your sill plate is shorter than the original. When I saw this I had to go take a picture of a set.

The ends do add an extra amount of support.

What am going to do is make the ends and weld them on, as the ends provide a lot of support to the step. The rear actually is spot welded on three sides and the front is spot welded on two(?) sides with the third side being the lower anchor for your front fender.
I will extend the new ones, and then repair the old set as I will be needing both sets for my uni's. All that needs repair on the old set is the front where the fender attaches, it needs a 1" flange welded in where it looks broken off the side as displayed in this picture.

ok i got you now they just stopped it where the door meet the frame and didnt extend it past under the front cab mount i can make that piece and the rear and weld them on for better support is that what your talking about
""WE THE WILLING, LED BY THE UNKNOWING, ARE DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE UNGRATEFUL""
Thats it, and you might want to weld it to the rear panel as there isn't much support on the outer edge of the sil plate. What did you do about the torque box behind the cab, I know I don't have any info on it other than I know it is an integral part of the body.
Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
