Looking good!

Did you fully weld everything on the frame before you put the full weight on it?

Great progress,Alan. Front end height looks good. Will the back be too low with a flip kit on the axle?

Dan, I didn`t completely weld the front in !, but as it is only going to sit there it shouldn't be a problem, don't they say 1/2" of good weld will hold a ton! well 8" of my weld should hold the front up ! .

Dave, I spoke with ezer last night and he agrees, I should be able to drop the back 5" and still have 4" travel between the top of the axle and the bottom of the chassis. I`ve just about finished the front perch flip, and will put her back down to see how she looks! then make the rear hangers to suit what I need! I`ll post some pic`s later, got dentist appointment right now! wish me luck! 190$ first visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't wish a dentist visit on anyone! Be sure to reset your pinion angle when you
get the perches/hangers done.

By the looks of the set-back Alan, you may be able to go across the front with a Monte Carlo bar.

Tim, I`ll take a pic from the side and show you, and see what you think!

Dave, the less said about the Dentist the better! not good!

Chris, I`ve got 2 more holes to drill and then bolt the perches up, and down she goes for a look see at what else I have to do.

:? Have I mentioned how much I hate drilling out rivets!!!, but it is still the neatest way to do it I think :( , give me an hour and I`ll post the resulting pic`s!

Chris, I`ve tried that! but I marked around the rivet with the grinder :( , so I went back to drilling.

Tim, here`s a side on shot of the front end,

is the hour up? had bad connection on drill had to rewire it, that my excuse and I`m sticking to it! :D

she went down 3 1/4" leaving 5 3/4"!, here`s some pic`s of the surgery

I think I need about 3" extensions on the hangers and lift the front 2" to level her out!, those are the tyres, that are going on the back but not the rims. I will trim the bottom off the perches later on but thats not important at the moment

drilling out the rivits to remove ?
i dont quite have that type of patience.
i use a cutting torch....get the rivit head , red hot , & cut
wont leave a mark on the frame.

ps Alan , your work looks top notch worship.gif

Looks great Alan!!!

I'm thinking someday I'll do the shackle swap also, by chance do you know how much your pinion angle changed? I'm thinking it could be an easy correction with some allignment shims. Another thought I had was drill out the bottom two rivits in the crossmember and use those existing holes to mount a section of angle and then install bolts through the two extra lower holes.

Jason, Chris would be the best one to answer the pinion angle question as this thing is no where near original level now, and I now he did it to his Bump, I see what you mean about the angle at the bottom, but I think I`ll just cut mine off! I wounder if you could do that to the rear hangers? might check that out this morning. :P with shoes on thanks to Mr Grumpy! :P Oh and Chris, it is Autumn here now with 10c mornings

Well I went out and looked at the rear hangers!, and thought what the heck, don't just stand there and look at it!, do it!. Mr Pat, I used your advice and cut the rivets off with the gas axe, after some pondering about how many bits that empty fuel tank could blow me into! I took it out, must remember to fill it with nitrogen!, anyhow they came off like a dream!

[img][/img]

I figured if it doesn't work or it`s not sound enough I can always bolt it back to it`s original position

[img][/img]

sorry about the quality of the pic`s, it`s an old digital camera with slow shutter speed!, and shaky hands! :)
the whole exercise gained 1 1/2 " which takes it down too 4 1/2" from top of axle to bottom of rails, I`m happy with that!

[img][/img]

[img][/img]

[img][/img]

The bracket needs some trimming and rounding , but that can happen later! when it comes apart again.
Can some one tell me the size of the mounting hole in the bottom of the radiator support panel, mines worn out and the holes are huge!, I`ll ask in truck talk as well!
and all personal safety equipment was worn! :P

When I got the front end out of the Falcon, they also included the booster and master cylinder, and while I was in the garage starring off in to space I saw it sitting on the shelf, HAHA! your next, I got it down took some measurements, made 2 extension brackets, threw the first one in the bin! I`m getting good at making 2 of everything! :( ,anyhow!, it only needed a 45mm extended bracket from firewall to back of booster and the push rod bolted straight up :D

Alan, after admiring all the work and how well this is turning out I was shocked when I saw the last picture. Good Lord man, you put the steering column and brakes on the wrong side  .....great job. Makes me think about dropping mine a few inches. On the other hand I tend to get way too compulsive about things and would end up with ticket for having it too low................Ross
