If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

Next comes the crankshaft coffee table, and a cylinder head sofa.

I agree, the price is waaay too high. It might be almost worth 1/4th his asking price if the friggin' thing was at least symmetrical.

On the crankshaft coffee table idea, check out This Guy's stuff! Nice work, but again, too much for my pocketbook. The hardest part would be drilling through the center for the cord.
It does give me ideas, though.

I've got a couple motorcycle cranks I've been saving for just such a lamp. :D
I also want to make a table out of a .060 over FE engine block I have laying around. Something like these...

This would be sorta cool too, just a little small. Maybe stick a larger piece of glass on it?

When I was a kid I figured I'd know I had made it in life when I could have a built and polished 426 hemi sitting on an enginestand in the corner of my rec room.

I still kinda like the idea ;) Provided of course I had the exta $15,000 I didnt mind sitting there

Slick Fan, those are nice. looks a lot better than the connecting rod chair. I wander if the crank was a stroker crank would the lite burn brighter? LOL

Met a guy once who lives across the river in Council Bluffs. In this guy's living room on an engine stand is a BRAND NEW Dual Quad 427 side oiler that went on the stand right out of the crate, I saw this with my own eyes. At the time he had about 60 Ford and Mercury Muscle cars from the 60s on his property and most of them were NICE original cars. I was there to look at a 66 Comet Cyclone he had with a 289 K motor and a 4 speed, it even had power windows. I also liked the 64 galaxie he had there that was a stripped 2 door post with a 390 and a 4 speed, cool car. His 427 Galaxie 500XL wasn't for sale though. I could go on further but it could cause excesive drooling on keyboards.
