Over the years, they hacked these trucks up like crazy. They would steal what ever they needed off one of the other trucks, to get it back on the road. Smash up the right frender, steal one of the truck with the left side smashed up. Need a front end, steal it off the truck with the blown motor. The...

About $16,000 overpriced for what a restored truck should bring.
Restored GH trucks are going for about $30,000. That one has been sitting for sale for awhile. He also has a 65 Chevy priced much better.

Thanks guys. As long as I can get a serial number, I can do a bond thing here in Illinois and get a title. If there was no numbers on the truck, then it is almost impossible to get a title.

Gary Seymour wrote:I swore my VIN wasn't stamped there, until I hit it with sandpaper.
I always hit the frame with a scraper, and then WD40 or PB blaster to bring out the number.
I have looked, and never found a number on the frame of a 65 and 66. Maybe I need to get out the specks and look harder.

HUH, I just did a 66, and looked, and couldn't find one. Even when it was in the body shop, the secretary of state police came in to check vin numbers, and couldn't find one, but the accepted the Hackney number, and copy of the title. I know there is a number stamped in that location on the 67 and 6...

Serial Number.

I was suppose to run to VA to buy a 66 Good Humor truck. It was in a mall, and donated to a church. Here is the problem, they don’t have a title. I know the 67 and newer have the serial number stamped on the passenger side frame rail, on the 65 and 66 I have never found a serial number stamped anywh...

PB blaster is great stuff.
I would just soak them in PB Blaster overnight, then hit them with the impact, and you should be fine.

Update, and questions.

Hi guys, it has been awhile since I checked in here. Over the last year, I restored 2-69’s, 1-67, and 2-66 Good Humor trucks. Plus I sold all the ones that I owned. One is suppose to be in the New York New York casino in Vegas, one is in a concept drive in in MN. These were for the guy who started R...

Those trucks were built by Hackney Brothers in Wilson, NC. I hate to correct you, but that truck was made by American body out of Texas. That is one that Craig missed. All the ones that were open on the drivers side, and were that body style were made by American body. They were mostly the west coa...

Re: Couple of things that should seem obvious but...........

I'm a pretty picky detail oriented person. Especially when I work on one of my toys. I will literally let it sit waiting for weeks or longer rather than do a job less than perfect. With that being said, I was surprised to start my Uni yesterday and have the Generator light stay on! I started checki...

Didn't have it there for the show. They won't let me sell, and it was raining in the morning, so I figured to let it sit inside. I hate to spend $20 to show my truck, and then only get a chance to win a $5.00 trophy... doesn't seam like a fair deal. I just paid $4.00 and got to see it all, and don't...

I had a buddy bring his gator, and got to tour the whole show on the back of a gator.... that is the way to go. I was really sad to miss the rat rod show, I loved that show last year. Nothing newer that a 64 alowed. I hate when you go to a car show and have PT cruisers, Neons, Silicons, and other ja...

Saturday was my last event of the year... Done for another year. Sunday went to a car show in Moris Il. Seen some nice cars and trucks. After I sat with my Best friend (we have been friends since high school, 30 some years) in the shop, ate ice cream and talked for a hour. The Hundred car pileup (ra...
