I am going to run these out in front of the rear wheels (without the caps of course) - no mufflers.

how much more of a drop and exhaust tips
i was thinking of running exhaust tips like that too. or run lakes pipes the length of the cab and exit at the front of the rear wheel opening.
the frame is roughly 6" thick. im thinking about Zing the frame at the front of the cab about half that much. the rear will proubly get more. maybe the full height of the original frame. its depends on what garbz and i come up with

cab to the blaster
so im blasting one of my cabs this weekend. once i have her out of the blaster ill primer it, do all of the body work, and make a few subtle modifications.
some of them are:
unibody big back window
firewall holes filled
fresh air vent on cowl filled
ill have a few more shots of the cab when i get it bare and show the condition.

Look forward to seeing the progress on filling in the cowl vents. Thats been one of the few changes I have planned for my cab as well. Keep up the good work. Sandblasting is some messy stuff but the results cant be beat any other way.

You mentioned possibly Z ing your frame.
I have No Limit's Reverse Eye Monos in the front, these with my 225/60s put me pretty low. I have the rear at the height I want but want to get the front down more and get some of the rake back in the stance. I have considered having my axle dropped to get it lower - problem is that takes my scrub distance to about 1/2 inch max. Z ing my frame would allow me to get it down farther - I thought about this too.
Engine mount is almost a non issue, cut it off, cut a slot in the crossmember for the tab on it and weld it back on. The rear spring hangers are another issue though, they are essentially under the cab. If you Z behind them you'll have to cut into the floor - there already isn't much leg room in a straight axle truck. I thought of building that section of the frame to match the toe board and making new spring hangers too. What would you think of just cutting and boxing the frame to move the springs up on it? You would have to a fairly long section to redo and the frame will end up quite abit thinner in that area height wise. A boxed section 1/2 the thickness of the frame should be about as strong as the stock C channel.

zing a frame
i have a full spare frame from a 64 i parted out. i could essentialy use that frame to box the other frame. ive done it with 2 ford model a frames. you can do anything with a torch. ive only seen garbz frame that he zed. i dont have the specifics. when i talked to him about helping me do it he said it was a weekend job and that it was no big deal. i guess well see. if you look at the pictures of garbz zed frame (dakota front end posting) he zed the frame in front of the firewall.
