Kids Seat

Is anyone using a kid's booster seat with the lap belts? I have a four year old and would love to be able to have him in the truck. I'm hesitant to try the shoulder belt conversion, as I don't know if I'm that skilled.

Our eldest grandson uses a booster seat in our car!, but with a lap sash!.
If you can`t do it!, pay someone else to do it!, because you`ll never forgive yourself if something happened!

back when my kids were little Kid, we used a booster seat in the middle and all it had was a lap belt..... but it is probably best to set it up as in the directions though...

Back in my day the kid's seat was in the bed...if the weather was nice that is.

Yup or in Dad's lap or just sliding around next to him going through twists and turns. Everything is moving much faster now and while there have always been idiots on the road, I'm convinced there are many, many more now.

That's funny I too remember 'driving' in my Dad's lap. And he was smoking at the same time. He'd be public enemy #1 in today's society. Think I'll pay someone to install. I hate to not do it myself but want it done right. No sure I can find someone in Seattle.

If anything I'd consider latch system anchors. Newer cars and new child seats are both equiped so no need to use a seat belt.

rode for a long time sitting on top of the old briefcase my dad used for a console in his old gmc back in the day.....seat belt what the heck was that?

If you have a weekend to spare and want to make a road trip bring it on over and I will assist you in installing the seat belts. That way you can do most of it yourself. We should be able to do it in a days time. I've got all the tools and equipment to do it.

Check your state laws. In KS they have to be 40lbs before they can use a booster. There is also age and height restrictions.

That said, it is easy to do the convertion.

Somebody in the government is now recommending booster seats through age 12.
We won't discuss what I would have given them at 12 for such a suggestion.............

My son has been 96th percentile since he was 6 months so he's been in the booster for awhile. Big kid.

Gee, that sounds eerily familiar.....I think I was the only 6' Freshman in my high school. (of course this was also 16 years ago too.) By the time senior year hit I had hit 6'6"

Can you find a booster seat with a back and self contained harness? I hope you can understand what I'm getting at. We have one for my son. He's seven, but only about 40 pounds. It is belted to the seat with just a lap belt, but has a harness built in, like the plastic race bucket seats from Jegs and Summit.
