Greetings from a 1st time Slick owner and 1st time poster. I bought this single-family owned '65 flareside a few weeks ago and have been learning the ins and outs as best as I can make out but there are a few things I have some questions about. Rather than list a bunch here I will leave this as more of an introduction and separate some questions into separate posts. Since the pictures were taken I've replaced plugs, wires, fuel pump, hoses, thermostat and housing, and a badly needed oil change as it hadn't been tabbed or driven much since 2006. Needs some more work as some guages aren't working but that's another post. It used to be green but had been painted red (sans primer or even sanding based on how bad the paint is flaking off everywhere!). I know how much everyone appreciates pictures so here you go!

Welcome! Shortbed flaresides( stepsides) are always a great choice and have a timeless nostalgic mass appeal. The original green paint looks special order, a previous Bell Telephone truck my guess. Door vin tag code on color? It may be blank if special order color.
Welcome to a fellow Washingtonian. Another clue as to it being something other than a off the lot truck. A DSO with 6 digits. Shows it was ordered in Special and not purchased off the lot. Could have been a Forest Service vehical. They used alot of this type of truck I dont remember seeing dark green on them more of a pea green color. Looks like a solid truck have fun with it.

i could no longer keep "r.i.p.ing" all of our fallen brothers and sisters, so i say here, slick loads of love and much respect to all you beautiful people.
Welcome from Houston TX!! First time poster AND with pics!! Yeah!! Looks like a great truck to start with. Have fun with it!
PS
Attend Slick Stock 2012 in Kansas City so I can see the truck up close! And when I don't return from test driving it, you'll know it's headed to Houston!! Will go perfect with my 65 Styleside!! LOL
Thanks everyone. You really know how to make a newbie feel welcome! The door VIN tag did include a 6 digit DSO code: 744722. Was delivered to Seattle, WA where it has been ever since. That makes more sense now as far as the shade of the green paint goes.
