Anyone know for sure if a Slick cab will fit (sideways) in the box of an '08 Ranger?? :)

Maybe build a trailer out of a truck frame
Put a rear end under the front leafs
Put a tongue on the back & pull it backwards

Lot of work for a one time deal....
But if a guy bought & sold on a regular basis....
I'd go trailer, before , in bed of truck
Less chance of damage I would think

They barely fit into a standard size bed, so I think the ranger would be too narrow.

I have a 5'x8' utility trailer that I plan on using to help TR pick up a cab from Pat. We will be building a wooden frame of some sort to put it on.

Be careful. Short utility trailers can develop a death wobble if towed too fast, or if load weight is two high

Unfortunately a ranger bed is 2.5" to narrow for a slick cab. (even went and measured) My suggestion would be if you want to use the ranger is get some 2x4 and make a frame inside the box for it to sit on above the bed rails.

My trailer worked great. Had about 1.5" on each side with the cab turned sideways. We ended up using my friend Bruce's tandem axle car trailer, loading was no problem, as where we picked it up, he had a tractor with a bail fork on the front:)
The bad news is, he had already moved the cab, with attached front clip several times, and pretty much killed the roof panel:(
In the end, the combined weight was more than I'm equipped to deal with at my place here in the city, so I ended up making multiple trips out to Bruce's acreage with a bunch of tools, and we pretty much harvested anything we could. There wasn't a whole lot of scrap metal to dispose of when we were done....
And if nothing else, it was thoroughly educational learning how the heater assembley, dash switches, hinges, windshield wiper setup, etc all go in there, as well as how the cab was constructed:)
