Thank you John for the kind remarks, not to mention the sarcasm. I apologize for the poor quality picture. It was before I had discovered how to post pictures properly here. And yes, my wife is a pro photographer but these were from my point and shoot. If all can be patient for a few more weeks, there will be a full spread coming on my truck. I have been going balls out for the past week and am determined to have it finished by the end of June. Here is an enlarged picture.
Image

Naturally there is no such thing as a Hurst Ranger but I thought it would look cool if I could make it look original. My slick is a serial numbered Ranger with the correct seats, brackets, and console. It is perched on a 76 frame shortened 4" with a very "polite" little 460 and C6. As luck would have it, a Hurst ProMatic 2 truck shifter fits perfectly in the Falcon console. It hurt me to cut it up but the result was exactly what I was going for. A local sewing lady made me a leather shift boot and bingo, it looks factory. It even feels like a natural place for a shifter.

Mark you must have the new steer by wire on your truck. :D Don't see no steering wheel in it. :D :D

Carpenter is the best especially for door seals. He can supply you the whole ball o' wax for those particular parts. http://www.dennis-carpenter.com/ Dennis though is notorious for backordering and screwing up orders, so you might want to try a reputable company that sells his stuff, I.e http://www.carolina-classics.com/our_story.cfm

or our own member Tom the 6166junkyard dog. (Flashback Fords)

That truck of yours looks amazingly dent and rust free. looks like you have the legendary "E-Z resto", which is usually found where unicorns live.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

This is a small world isn't. :D Only part of Ford plant left is where LoDal garbage trucks are built. The smoke stacks are gone.

BackyardResto You have excellent taste in cars and engines. :D :D
The Kasse Boss 9 heads may be closer than you think.
Quote from Jon Kasse on 6/1/08
We're machining the second run of heads now. If everything looks OK casting wise, We'll make about 50 heads. It won't be long. I'm not sure on pricing yet. ..... Kaase

Hope that helps.

You've definitely got & had some sweet rides. :thumright:
I'm sure glad you joined up, so I can drool on the progress of what will assuredly be a killer little '66! 8) I bet a Boss-9 will nestle in those fenderwells quite nicely. whistle.gif

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
