I have more ideas on the hood to keep it from touching the cowl. I need to redesign some of the parts but it should be pretty minor and eliminate the problems. Hopefully by weekend,we can try this again. :D

Later,
Kevin

glove box door

Post by azratrod »

so ive gotten a bunch of questions about the glove box door. what i did was take a extra ash tray out of a dash, cut the front cover off, fill the knob hole on the glove box door, cut out the "pull" off the front cover of the ash tray, cut a simular shape out of the glove box door, weld, grind, media blast, and prime

I think I'd read about that somewhere else - nice to see it finished - looks sweet. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, no? LOL

(Edit) Ok, so I went back through your build thread - I saw it here! LOL

One of your earliest posts mentioned putting in a uni big back window - are you still planning to do that?

bbw into my styleside

Post by azratrod »

yep, i have a bbw truck that is ready to give up its rear half of the cab. i just need to sweet talk garbz (hint hint) to help me. ill drag kstone into the project too.

the other major mod is to Z the frame in front of the cab and at the rear of the cab to get the truck even lower then it is now.

the glove box door treatment is something i read about somewhere here on this site. it was a quick little trick that can be done in a few hours.

this truck is being built to look, drive, and ride as if a guy in the 60s wanted to modify his truck. lets pretend he drove it for a few years and then decided to change a few things. there will only be parts, products, and modifications that the guy could have done in the 60s to early 70s. my '28 model a roadster pickup is the same way

back on track

Post by azratrod »

while the rest of you are having a good time in iowa the rest of us are having to work. well atleast i am. i was pretty upset that i couldnt make the trip to iowa. but ive been traveling alot for work opening up a few restaurants for the tilted kilt. its also been too hot in az to work on the truck lately. so when i got a surprise phone call from "garbz" the other day my build out look has changed. dave and i are going to be Zing the front and rear of my truck very soon. nothing like having an expert at your side showing and helping. its been awhile since ive posted anything so stay tuned because its going to be a wild next few weeks.
