I was curious about that...how long did they use this design? One of my ideas was to 'update' my truck to a newer clutch release but I guess they all used the same thing.

Used the same design up to 79.

not sure if they are 4140.
think i will gather up the ones i have and measure the different lengths.

4140 seems like it would be a good choice. I may have an old one I can measure. I will try to forge a couple and eliminate the weak bend area.
