Dakota setup Update

yes, there are at least 2. The one that seems to be preferred by our members is a brand name called "Dream Beams". You might do a Google on them , or a search within this website, if you are interested.

Shawn F. -- I got my almost complete dakota front clip (missing rack and rotors) for $96 from a local Pick and pull on half price weekend. It is cheaper at most place to grab the whole front clip than each part. Don't ask my why I'm sure they do it that way to make more money or something like that. I am replacing ball joints, bushings and rotors just so I don't have to it in a year or two. But yea great kit and I can't wait to drive the truck again.

Also word of advice get another frame and get it ready then with the dakota then transfer you parts. A lot less down time for a daily driver.

Just remember that you will have to register the other frame, so have a clean Title for it.

MadMaxetc - I would say the install is a 5. The best advice I can give is to take your time. It actually went together a lot quicker than I thought It would. I would say the hardest part was getting the spring reinstalled. Oh and if you going to do new ball joints and bushing be sure you have access to a press it goes a lot faster and easier.

Yes at this point I am basically done with the Dakota front end I just have to wrap up some things. And to anyone I told that ford rims would work on the late 80's model hubs I was wrong on that. I went to put at least one of my tires on today and it wouldn't fit. I re read the old post and it had nothing to do with rim bolt pattern rather it had all to do with tire sizes.. Oops I will have to go to bone yard next weekend (break my heart) for at least 2 rims to get it rolling. Also need to find a rack for the Dakota and get it shipped off.

Pictures below of almost complete setup. I have to get a new hub seal because I broke one... Now comes the fun part of doing everything else and I need some motor mounts now
