Installation of Clifford 6 to 8 in 300 6cyl stock engine

I have a simple question but am afraid the answer(s) may be complicated! I have a F-250 with a stock 300 6cyl with no changes. I want to install a Clifford 6-8 manifold with a bbl carb. Is this an easy install or there modifications that need to be made?

Ive been wanting to do that also. I dont think it would be too complicated. Probably the hardest part would be hooking up the accelerater linkage to the new carburator. I think iceman changed his so maybe he will give you all the details.

The Clifford bolts right up in place of the original. After removing the intake and exhaust together un bolt them from each other. The clifford does not us heat from the exhaust like the original so you do not need to worry about heating the intake. Bolt them back up to the engine using the orignal hardware. I used a 2bbl carb with a 4 to 2 adapter and turned my carb so I could use the original cable. Look in my album for pics. If not you will have to replace the accel cable with a longer one.

You may want to consider changing to dual exhaust if you're going to spend the time and money to upgrade the intake. EFI manifolds are a good start, and are relatively cheap. There's plenty of information over at fordsixperformance.com to help you make some mods. A few members here are members there too. Good luck.

Where do I begin. I purchased a clifford 6 to 8 manifold and it was suggested I buy an efi exhaust manifold. This is really going to sound stupid but am I to assume a dual exhaust manifold are two sections? There is an efi exhaust manifold for sale on ebay for a 300 and it looks to be in two sections. Will this fit on the clifford 6-8 intake manifold? Thanks

That duel exhaust will really change the note of your exhaust rumble!

Can I use an efi exhaust manifold on a 66 F250 300 without fuel injection. I purchased a clifford 6 to 8 intake manifold to convert from a one barrel to a two barrel carb. I was told earlier I can but now someone has told me it won't work. Hey folks, I am still learning here, or at least trying to. Thanks

Both upgrades can be done seperate, but work better together.
Linkage isn't bad. Install is the same as on my 67.
Checkout my photobucket pics. I have long tube headers, not the EFI manifolds, but the install doesn't realy change.

Take a look at Brians pics. He's got the clifford/efi set up.
