Post by ICEMAN6166 »

i know the inny/outie thing has been discussed a zillion times here

i know because i have them that there are inny and outie caps for the f100s

only seen outie caps for the f100, i have some of those too.

got a deal on some 16.5 tires dor my 66
of course they are outie wheels

never saw any 66 outie caps for f250s

they dont exist ?

A guy with a current thread on the FTE slick forum has a set of '66 F250 outies he's willing to part with.

that is what i thought.

cant help the 16.5 , shopping a salvage yard for tires can be tough.
i tell my friend as soon as 3 wheel drive catches on he will sell all those sets of 3 tires he has

the 16" tires in the inventory did little more than irritated me.
who wants a standard load 35 psi tire with a weak sidewall for their 3/4 ton or 4x4?
seemed like most of the 16s off the suvs were of that type.
fine for hauling your kids to soccer but useless for hauling weight in the bed of a trick.

guess i will have to find some 67 outie caps.

Correct, they do not exist. If you must run outie style wheels, why use the 67 thru 77ish design? This design really doesn't come close to matching the original design. Why not use the '75 econo and some 77 and 78 F 250's? ebay # 150601902661 ( sorry no link). This beefy design better matches the innie style.

budget dictates using what i already have.

sooner or later a set of decent 16s will pop up and i can go back to the innys. the 16.5 are winter tires anyways.

Oddly enough 1967 is the first year for outies and the last year for innies. It has taken me ten years of swap meets to gather up 3 stainless 1967 innies. I have always wanted a set. I have no need for them, just an odd obsession of mine. Thanks, Lyman.
