How in the

do I get the chrome trim off of my dash? I need to take it off so that I can get the pad off the dash. Thanks for the help!

It's held on by little spring wire clips that form kind of a X and a point as they stick out of the trim. Try reaching up under the dash an pinching them a little with some needle nose and they should slip right out. Look up under the dash and you will see what I mean.

you da' man. If I'm going to paint the dash, do I need the chrome trim. Will it still fit or will it be loose?

Well I suppose you could weld the holes up but it should snap right back in, same trim is on 64-65 Custom Cabs without the dash pad.
