I want to remove some of the leafs from my huge 13 leaf pack to make the truck ride a bit better and bring the back down to be a bit more level with the front. I need shorter u-bolts and was wondering are these u-bolts square or semi round? right now I know my current u-bolts are 5/8 x 2 1/2 x 9. Thanks for the help on this guys.

I Just Went Through This With My 64' F250 Switching Out The Rear Leaf Packs For Mono's And Was Able To Source The Shorter U-Bolts For The Dana 60 Locally. I Know Greg D Removed A Few Leafs From His Truck And Could Probably Chime In With Some Better Info On This. Here's A Guy On Ebay That Will Make Whatever Size You Need.

Do you have 13 leaves in your main pack or 9 mains and a 4 pack of helper springs?
The helper springs do nothing until the truck is loaded.

I checked it out and see it is only 11 leaves. 2 are helper leaves and then the regular 9 leaf pack I believe. My plan is to take it down to a 7 leaf pack. I do not haul anything heavier than a couple of mt bikes with the truck. I will be doing dream beams and the rear shackles in the near future also. Any issues with removing so many leaves? Right now it is so stiff and sits so high in the rear.
My other question is are the u-bolts square or semi round? I am not sure since they do not look like pictures of either I have seen on the web. I know they are not round so that option is off the table.
A CV swap and 4 link in the rear is looking good but that will be down the road a few years when I do the motor and have everything apart and the truck off the road for awhile.

You might consider trading it for a F-100.
Even with some leaves removed the stiffer tires and additional un-sprung weight of the Dana 60 will always make a F-250 ride and drive more truckish.
My truck is a F-250 with the same spring set up that you have.
It doesn't ride bad at all.

I understand it will always ride like a truck. I am on the look out for a 9 inch to replace the Dana 60, though I like the industrial look of 8 lug rims with 50 series tires. I will have to play with what rides right for me.
