OK, hoping to get Eventually back to looking her best but without so much white this time. going to leave the top and back of cab white and everything else will be Orange. going to be doing it all myself with help from friends so she wont be perfect but then again, she is my driver and my work horse. I have purchased tow one gallon kits here,
https://www.paintforcars.com/product/om ... paint-kit/ , and I am wondering if I should dump both gallons in a bucket and mix them to be sure the color I will be spraying, at separate times as I will be driving her, will be uniform weeks later when I spray again. trying to add pics of where I am.. I have hood, doors, and fenders ready for paint. I will need to do some rear cab mount repair, both cab corners, inside and out, and the bottom of both cowl sides. I will need to straighten up where we welded 6" to it to fit the 76 chassis and do some work to my tailgate.. this will probably take me most of next year.. I also have a dump bed cylinder to get under her so I can haul gravel... someone let me know if the pics don;t show up, I have 3 more weeks of non-weight bearing on my leg so I will have time to figure it out.. lol

hey Pat, lets see if I am thinking straight, I should mix the paint well, (shake), then dump both gallons into a bucket, mix it well then I can put it back in the paint cans? right? I think that sounds right...

That should be fine …
.
.
.let me tell you about my first paint job
I was probably in the 8th grade
My dad wanted a tractor painted
He bought a gun & some red paint
The air compressor wouldn’t keep up
The garage was dark
The paint didn’t get mixed up very well
When we backed it out
The front was pinkish
And the back was purplish

Very good illustration on why to mix your paint very well and then mix more than one gallon together. I'm visualizing that tractor.

My dad was 41 when I was born
He “let” me do things most younger fathers wouldn’t allow kids do
I don’t think he welded after I was 10 years old
He taught me the basics to lots of different skills

I think that is AWESOME! I don't think I had the patience at 41 for another kid like Zak..

I used there paint before and the paint matched can to can and I bought another can later and it also matched the first order and I was pleased with the quality and price. Tom

thanks Tom that makes me feel a whole lot better on my choice.. I did a little research before I bought it but I need to start getting the parts that are ready painted and reassembled... that was the reason for asking about blending them..

With factory mixed colors there should be a batch number on the cans. If both cans have the same batch number you should not have to blend them together.
