Three gallons of primer! If the weather holds out maybe the '66 will be in paint by the end of the year as originally planned. Who would have thought we would be having 60 degree weather at the end of November in Kentucky! Maybe it everything falls together right I'll be able to drive it down to Knoxville for the Supernationals. It would be awesome to be able to actually have a truck of my own there for the 20th Supernationals I've attended.

Im taking advantage of the warm weather also here in southern Ind. Im welding a new section of metal in the bed. plan on having it done and primed before the sun goes down. When your a shade tree mechanic, your at the mercy of Mother nature.

what kind of primer are you using?

we always used DP40 or 90 at the shop when i was a kid. Its actually what i have in mind for just the finish on mine.

Just got done stripping my rear bumper with a wire wheel on a 4in grinder. Then painted it a nice satin black.
I counted 5 different colors of paint while stripping

Oh btw, it's 71 degrees here and not a cloud in the sky :D

Stop, you are hurting me. It is about 45, 30 mph wind and raining. I have a single car garage (to much stuff to fit in even a car) and most of the things that are in the garage are the parts I need to install. DOES ANY ONE FEELS SORRY FOR ME? I feel sorry for me, but I do love living in Oregon so guess I need to shut up and take my medicine.

I dont have a clue about the primer, that's between Dad and the guy who is helping us paint. I do know that on top of the primer is going single stage 66 candy apple red and wimbeldon white. After the paint sets for a few weeks hopefully whithout too many greasy fingerprints added to it we can crank up the furnace in the shop if needed and put all the shineys on that have been collecting over the past four years. I have a strange feeling about the time it's ready to drive the weather is going to get nasty. If the weather really holds out though we need to do some touch up painting on Dad's 69 to remove aformentioned greasy fingerprints and get some new shineys put on it too. That way I dont have to share! :steering:
