you would have to cut the frame with a z style cut. go to www.trucks.com, the tv show, and look at what they are doing to a chevy like that. they are even using the long bed and shortening it too.

that chest will help you out for a while and then you can't seem to find your tools again for some reason. old habits are hard to kick. i left the plastic on the sides of mine. it is too purdy to have all that stainless in my dirty garage. i got mine out of sam's club. it was a clearance at 400 buck...

i pulled the pan on a 302 in a 77 2wd. it wasn't fun. jacked up the engine as much as i could. blocked it up from the engine and frame mounts with 2x4 sections. i did get the pan out and replaced the lower bearings, front and rear seals and oil pump. your 300 is longer than my 302 was. i don't remem...

i tried to reach up into mine and i have little hands and i couldn't. you could grind it off and drill it out. or you can tack it with a welder. you still might need some heat on there. i would soak it really well for about a week with some penetrating liquid with either direction that i went. you s...

a cruise-o-matic refers to the shifting pattern of the tranny. they thought then that if you skipped second gear to third then you were saving gas. and if you look at a shifter on a 65 or 66 mustang it should say cruise-0-matic and will have a big dot and a little dot for second and drive. big for t...

if you are just wanting LED's then the local parts store sell them. sometimes there is a ballast or something that goes with the lights to make them work. there is like ten or twenty bulbs on each and they plug into you stock socket. ebay has them for all ranges of prices, sizes, and color. red, whi...

does anyone know which is actually better? the pertronix or the duraspark? if i were to guess then i say the duraspark for two reasons: the availability of the setup at the store down the road plus you can still get the parts at the yard that are still made in america. for a driver i woud use the du...

the auto lens suck when you have bright lights around you also. they won't flip back and forth due to the brightness of the area you are working in. atleast mine works that way. that flash burns the back of your eyes. if you make too much scar tissue back there then you might have one big blind spot...

i am curious of what car axles would fit that rear to get the smaller pattern. i will measure that lincoln rear to see what it is. there is a mid 70's ranchero in the yard that i can check also. i would use this truck mainly for light use anyways. i might make a rollpan for the rear and set a hitch ...

CV question and bolt patterns
i am confused as to how low a cv will get you. there are some pics of a cv done and it doesn't look that low. no one has stated where the bumper sits to the ground. i just want to drop a few inches and my truck is sagging as is so i can't tell what 6 inches is. does this setup push the wheels out an...

i have a hobart which works great. some say miller is the best. i think they are about the same truthfully. around here where one is sold then the other is too. those would be the easiest to get parts for. you want to get one that has plenty of adjustments. the more you can adjust it then the better...

is the four speed overdrive the tranny that came out in the 80's for the ford trucks? it looks like a newer style borg warner type tranny with an internal shifter. the shifter is mounted torward the front of the floor pan. similiar to the older granny four speeds. i have seen a few of these trans in...
