Haha be my guest, the motor is easy (bolt in almost if you do it Kid's way) Its the crank/switch that gets tricky

Power Windows
Used PFM's write-up on the power window conversion using the factory regulators and saturn power windows. Then did a few tweaks of my own to come up with this: http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j413/davewave649/1963%20F100%20Wrongbed/th_WindowPrototype_zpsc4c43aae.jpg (Click on the pic for the vid...

A little info i found while looking at ideas, looks like everyone is using SS or aluminum but i think with a tank sealant and a lot of patience you should be able to make one from mild steel no problem

Re: Not a slick but kinda cool
If it is a manual tranny it had a column shift. If its a stick the shifter and/or tranny has been swapped. If i remember right its a floor shift however i dont remember seeing any of the components for a column shift on the column. Then again its been a year almost since ive been there. That being ...

Not a slick but kinda cool
My first 2 years of college (now year 3) I lived in the dorms and didnt have a garage to keep the truck in and not wanting to pay $600 a year for a parking permit nor wanting to park my truck on the streets of a town that turns in to a drunken party every weekend I parked the truck off campus at a f...

Re: Clear Parking Light Lenses
The only ENFORCABLE regulations are the ones in place at the time of manufacture, period. Tom :2cents: Agreed, the exception being seatbelt I believe. From what I've picked up talking to ppl it seems that if your truck never had em you don't need em but as soon as you put them in the truck you have...

Re: Making your own gas tank
I don't think the foam really works. I have a fuel cell with that stuff, too, and a fast reacting level sender/gauge. If I accelerate, slow down, turn, I can see the level fluctuate by about 1/4 tank. I've not yet had a starvation issue but a carburetor has a bit of built in reserve and it does hav...

Re: Making your own gas tank
An alternative to the baffles would be to put in foam like some of the aftermarket poly cells come with. The one i have right now has foam in it, its an open cell foam so the fuel runs through it but cuts down on how much the fuel can move. It comes in blocks so you just squeeze it through the openi...

Re: Making your own gas tank
Do you guys see a problem with doing this? I have my trusty MIG welder and could do it out of plain steel. SS or Al would be better, but I don't really have the setup for that. The factory tanks are steel. Would I want to coat the inside with anything? I am wanting to maximize the volume and have a...

Re: Headliner alternative
Hi guys, money has been tight so progress is painfully slow. Had everything smoothed an primered so I cut the opening for the stereo an the face isn't as straight as I thought it was so I'm gonna have to build it up a bit with some bonds to get it to fit right. I'm coming home from college this week...

First thing I ever drove was a 2004 or so class c motor home that was towing our 18 ft box trailer. But that was on dirt roads.

Re: Headliner alternative
I had my headliner done like that minus the radio but yesterday I covered it with black leather grained Naugahyde. maybe it will work and i can post some pics. I think this is a good idea. easy to make and paint-able or cover-able. poor guys dream. That's the plan for covering mine, unfortunately w...
