Forgot to add, in this day and age, might be a good idea to list the VIN # so people can use those car-checky places on the internet for their own verification.

Tauruses had 2 different 3.0L engines: DOHC Duratec (more powerful) & the 2-valve pushrod Vulcan (easier to work on). Also they had 2 different transmissions: AX4S & AX4N (supposedly the better one). I would have included which ones you have in the ad. Don't know about the craigslist ad spac...

I sent my Santa Suit up to my son-in-law. He set up his deer-cam inside the house, and sure enough on Christmas Day he showed my 2 & 4 year-old grandkids that Santa does exist. I live in the city of Indianapolis (and I mean 'in the city'), and have had as many as 6 deer walk by me while I'm stan...

Mine looks like Johnny Canuck's (handle and all)(was in bed of truck when I bought it), except mine has a square 'U' metal piece on the top of the jack--had a touch up welding job on the 'U', so I don't know if that is original or not. I've always heard they were stored under the hood on the passeng...

I have an article from a model magazine that said the '57 Ford Retractable roof had 10 relays, 10 limit switches, 4 lock motors, 3 drive motors, and over 600 feet of wire---bet it's a lot of fun trying to repair one of those!

Looks like a ton of money went into that truck. Must have run out of funds before he could afford a decent seat cover. Are old rebuilt caddy engines supposed to smoke the way the tailpipes look in the picture?

I've seen a lot of different postings, and have different writings, about whether the day is Feb. 2nd, or Feb. 3rd. Plane left after the show very late at night and crashed. I guess the discrepancy is about whether it crashed and everybody died before or after midnight.

Richmond, Indiana hosted the Model-T convention this summer. It was a week long event and they had over 900 Model-T's show up. One enthusiast from Austrailia had his shipped to California, then drove it all the way across the country for the event. The small town of Hagerstown (20 miles from Richmon...

cdherman--you are right--I know my cab mounts and floor boards are bad--figured if I put the rag joint and bearing in then it would be driveable to take it somewhere to get the cab mounts & floorboards done. To pull the column, how do you disconnect the 2 shifting levers below the firewall?

Need rag joint /steering column advise

Dumb novice is trying to replace rag joint. I have it off, and also want to replace the lower column bearing. The top of the rag joint attaches to a flanged piece with 2 bolt holes and 2 flanges which attaches to what I would call the bottom inner rod of the column. How do I get the flange piece off...

I bought one from C&G Early Ford Parts, Inc., Escondido, Ca., ph-760-740-2400, website www.cgfordparts.com . Part# C5TZ-3A525-A. They called it a 65-66 PU Steering Column Coupler. I haven't installed it yet. The rag part on my old one seems to be made up of layers of hard felt stuff, and the new...

I bought my 3 daughters smoke detectors for Christmas presents and my wife bought me 2 for my birthday in December. They were all 'dual-sensor', which is what you're supposed to be using now. The old types were 'ionization'(recognizes open flame but not too good in detecting smoldering fires), and '...

Slick at Kruse

Went to the Kruse Auto Auction last Sunday 9/2/07. There was a ton of eye-candy there, and I'm not talking about the ladies. Saw a few 50's and 70's Ford Trucks, but only one Slick. A '66' that was exactly like mine, except that mine's a hunk of junk. Was locked-up and they get real bitchy if you to...
