Thats right, the plain Jane trucks only had the door locks on the passenger side. It goes back to earlier days at Ford when someone thought it was safer for you to enter the car on the passenger side should the car be parked on the street. I do not know when it became standare to have the locks on both sides. My 56 has the door locks on both doors, but it is a Custom Cab truck too.

My 66 base model has two door locks. It was mentioned in the other thread about some trucks only having one sunvisor...mine was built w/ only one on the drivers side.

Funny thing, someone just this weekend was going thru cars in or neighborhood. My truck is in the drive not garage, and I found they had popped the latch on the wing windows but could not figure out, find , the door lock to unlock my truck.
I always laugh that if one of these kids did break in and try to steal my truck they would not be able to drive a 3 on the tree. Also when I go somewhere with people in the truck and park it they start to roll and lock my truck, I tell them leave the window down!? They ask why and I say "Look at my truck, people will feel bad for me and leave money" .
Go ugly or stay home.

Then of course, he was the sheriff and didn't have to worry about locking his doors :-)

My plain 66 only has the driver's sun visor, drivers arm rest, no radio, but the padded dash. Go figure.
