what rims fit a 65 f250?

Post by notdunyet »

Hi guys & girls! I just picked up my new toy, a 65 F250 Camper Special, and it has old tires on the original split rims. One tire leaks. What I'm wondering is, will the stock steel rims from my 86 F250 fit? I saved this old girl from the scrapyard, buying it from the original owner, and after sitting 20 yrs. fired up after filing the points and changing the fuel pump! Gotta love the ol' 352s! Anyway, appreciate any help! Thanks!

Actually, they may not. I have a set from a 88 here that won't fit my 61 or 66 f250 because the centers are too small to fit the rear axle centers....

These are the wheels you need if you want to be period correct and run the original caps. These were the standard one piece F 250 wheels, the 2 piece were the heavy duty option. Image

As my dad used to say, somewhere there was a horse that died a painful death from terminal constipation due to missing a key part of its anatomy.

Thanks for the info, guys. I guess i was more concerned with the lug size, more than anything. The 86 lug nuts are bigger looki.g than the 65s. Guess I'll have to see by just trying. Thanks again!

I've got those wide ones off Frank out in the lean-to you can have if you want. Check out the ones on the 75 frame as well, but I think 1 is wider.

I Would be sure they fit the backs first since the rear axle on the older trucks have a bigger hub, then also Ford had 2 wheels the one in the picture is with a raised lip and the others had no lips at all trucks had the same rear bolt circle up to around 1997 but that does not mean they will fit and also some on way later years went to a Metric lug patterns
