Nice truck! I see pics of it coming off of a flatbed... Is it running or a project?

Yes Drew, the last owner put in dual fuel tanks one on each side, He never finished running the lines and it has a manual valve. The original fuel tank is still functioning.

and yes it is running, has a few minor things I have to fix,power steering is leaking where the gear box links up with the steering wheel, and i discovered yesterday the lower alternator mounting bolt is broke off in the block. but other than that it runs strong and has been well taken care of. The previous owner said it was a 390, but i have not had the chance to get under the truck to get the ID numbers off the block, tranny is a NP435.Thanks everone for the warm welcome

Nice, clean looking Slick you have there.

This is the place; lots of good members and plenty helpful too.

My 66 also has dual side tanks similar to yours.

Previous owner had them put on back in 65 when he ordered the truck, as a dealer option.

Mine have the filler neck inside the fender.

I re-plumbed it with new lines and use a manual three-way gate valve located on the floorboard, under the drivers seat (same as used on the bigger trucks with multiple tanks).

Great to get new members!

hey carl, thanks for the welcome. I am glad you said something about the tanks. i wondered why the lines were in such bad shape, since i thought someone had added the tanks recently, but it makes sense if it came that way from the dealer as an option.

thanks for the welcome david. I just had my first experience with a broken alternator bolt in the block and some easy outs. I luckily got it out without damaging anything so i am happy....now only if I had bought the right replacement bolt lol

a fun experience to say the least

put anti seize on the bolt, all the way up, will keep that from happening again and also from seizing in the aluminum spacer.
