intake manifold for 66 F-250

Post by Oldman »

I am wanting to change (possibly) from a one barrel to a two barrel carb. Would I need to change the intake manifold or is there a kit avail to convert? Also, does anyone know where I can buy an intake to accompany a two barrel carb? Thanks. You can probably tell I am not well versed or knowledgeable in what I am asking. I am learning though.

What engine do you have in your truck?
If it is a I-6 Clifford makes intakes for a 2 or 4 barrel carb.

There are several offenhauser 4 barrel intakes on Ebay right now. Kinda pricey though. would need a 2 barrel adapter. But a 4 barrel would really wake that 6 up.

clifford intake w. autolite 2v carb and headers really helps the 240/300.
lots of argument over performance/mpg being better with the 2 or 4v
if the engine is stock the 2v is fine and 16-18 mpg.
with performance cam or other mods then maybe i would try out a 4v.
