Emergency de-slickification

Post by bluebolt »

The city has cracked down hard on my slick hobby. Basically anything that is not running has to be inside a building along with ALL car parts by next weekend Sunday the 21st of November. Some of these trucks are going to the crusher unfortunately. The two most likey to go are the green 66 long bed Custom Cab parts truck and the 64 short bed parts truck. The uni I will probably stash at Grit's and I will be keeping my project 66 F100 white truck, the 66 Camper special and the 65 short bed. So if anyone wants a cab or frame or other parts hit me up now. It has to go soon!

Isn't that the way it goes, some neighbor can have all kinds of crap laying around like old dirt bikes, boats, junk, you name it, but since yours are trucks, YOU got to get rid of them or pay a fat fine.
Where is the justice in that? One guy was told to move out a bunch of cars he had, so he lined them up and painted designs on them all and sid it was art and got to keep them. TR

the same applies here county wide. The county zoneing board is trying to clean up the county. All vehicles have to be taged and only one major body part allowed outside. No building material can be stored outside unless you have a building permit.Guess they are trying to beautfie the county for the tourist's.

I feel your pain brother. City inspector cited my slick as a "Junk" vehicle that I had to either move off my property of hide behind a fence or in a building... I ended up fighting it in court after looking up their own laws and finding a couple loopholes. Essentially they gave me a couple months to either finish reassembling the truck or build a fenced in section on the side of my house to hide it.

I hope you can find some way to hold on to them. Sheame to hear they might end up in the scrapper.

What if you covered them with a car cover?

I know a buddy that lives in appartments and they have the same rule. Inspected/tagged with no flat tires. Thing is they can not remove the cover legaly just to inspect it for tags or inspection. Of course some one stole that cover one night so he locked it to the car the next time. They couldn't touch it. Just a thought maybe it will help you out.

Got any pictures or what your getting rid of?

take a picture, wide angle of your neighbors prestine back yard,
take the film to your local graphics house,
have them make you a 3 part fabric panel mural 16' deep x 30' wide x 8' high,
put your trucks side x side against the back fence and use the mural on the 2 sides and front!
Problem solved

I am still looking for a automatic steering column for my 65 if you know of or have one.

BTW, I am on the zoning commission here. This had come up before here too. I always jump in and reiterate that anyone that is a property owner has the right to have hobby vehicles on their property, even if they are using them for parts. There is obviously restrictions as to how many, at some point you turn into a junk yard. I always maintain that the government should not interfere with peoples personal property rights. I am sure that one of these days enough liberals will get in the board and I will be out voted.

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner. A Republic is a well-armed sheep.

I hope I always stay crazy, because I know if I ever become sane, it will drive me crazy.

Ouch! worse than you originally thought. Guess behind a fence won't work?
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

I know I saw that. I have a line a yard up here that has several slicks and I wouldn't have to pay $800 to ship it to me
