Wheels Size questions for my 64

OK I did a search and really did'nt find whatI was looking for. I am curious as to how big and what size back spacing can I run on my 64 Fleetside F-100. I plan on running 15" and would really like to run 8 but not sure on the back spacing. Also what would you recomend on the front's aswell. I am going with Chrome reverse US. WHEEL and want to go with a wider rim in the rear and run a 15x7 up front.. ThankS Ryan

i think you can get away with 4" backspacing. it will be tight. i ran 17" lightning rims that were bs 4" with a 275/60-17 and there were some signs of rubbing on the box side of the fender. this was on a 68 and so i am assuming the axle widths are the same. if not, then disregard. lol

Anybody else using aftermarket rims? What sizes are you running? By the way I have 4 AMERICAN RACING POLISHED ALUMINUM RIMS, like new VENTURA is the model name. they are on my truck now and I wanna sell them, so if your close to CINCINNATI and looking for a nice set of rims hit me up, I will make you a hell of a deal.... lol

14x5 d spokes torque thrusts up front, out back is a massive set of 16x12 steelies with 5-1/2 of back spacing and no rubbing, the tires are hoosier pro street radials 29x15.5 x 16, its a gasser style truck with a torino cobra rear 9 inch big bearing with the daytona pinion, pretty much the same size as the trucks original rearend. trial and error will work the best along with a good tape measure. summit and jegs carry tire fittment gauges for like 25 bones and well worth the price.

FWIW, for my rear "meats" I am using 15x8 with stock 3-3/4" backspacing. It provides about an inch to the inside wheelwell, and the outside fender lip. That is with P265 60's. Any wider and I'd be rubbing somewhere. The truck is lowered too.

15 x 7 w/225/75/15 upfront

15 x 8 w/235/75/15 out back.

I think all are 4" backspace.

15x7 front with 225x60s, 15x8 rears with 275x60s.
It's a little tight on the inside on the rear, a pair of 1/4" spacers will make it about perfect. They will touch if the axle is high enough on one side only.

Thanks guys for all the help, I just went to the junk yard and found NOTHING! All I want is aset of 4 plain factory steelies, all I have found where the oem ones that resemble the chevy truck ralleys with the little rectangles cut into them.. I am thinking about running chrome reverse wheels if I can't find some less expensive oem steelies... If all I can find is a "styled" steel wheel it looks like I may be running some MOON speed disc's since I am lowering it now it may look ok, well better than the American racing VENTURA wheels that are on it, not that they are bad looking just not "MY" style...

Thats what I used on my 54 only in chrome and $30 less than the primed ones, go figure, and I was real please with them when I got them, nice chrome, lasted well, as long as I kept them waxed...

Fine looking Bel Air you have.
I had a 54 210 with an all Black w Tan Interior, auto, fender skirts (yea they were still there) and ALL of the optional chrome. Was kind of an odd car being loaded like that and not a Bel Air - should have kept it.

I have Dodge charger "General Lee" wheels on my '62 but I don't know what the actual back spacing is. They're pretty much stock 7" rims.
I'm running 2.55:70's on the rear and they clear just fine. I have 2.15:75's on the front because they were about as narrow as I could find. I have "arm strong" power steering and big meat on the front is a real chore.
They are for sale because I'm going to Vintage Wheel reversed with baby moons if anyone is interested.
