The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

and yet another method for a brake light switch

Post by Uncle Skip »

Ron Francis sells a special low pressure hydraulic switch (the inline style) to replace the old one - direct replacement - and has a nifty plug that goes over the switch posts.
It only takes 25/30 pounds of pressure to activate instead of the old style that takes over 100 pounds.
Look at SW32

Cured my intermittent brake light problem and I didn't have to custom rig a mechanical switch under the dash.
I like it. :D

They don't seem to last very long with silicon fluid might be OK with regular brake fluid. Tom

Tom... this switch is silicone friendly.
That's what I had a problem with in the first place.

I've done a couple of the SW 76 type. Had to build a small bracket from scrap metal laying around. Works pretty good and eliminates the need for wires hanging out your firewall. I've got a new truck that I don't plan to go all out on so I'll keep this part in mind.
All my tools are hammers except screwdrivers, those are chisels.
