This is pretty cool. Apparently some old guy stashed away a bunch of cars and trucks, and now they are all being auctioned off. Didn't notice any slicks, but alot of earlier Ford trucks. Here's a link to the website with pictures and more info.

Auction in Perry, GA
COOL!
I'd like the 2-door Continental, one of the 60's T-birds, the old tractor, the flatbed 2-ton fridge & a peek inside the garage.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

I had a uncle like that. He did all kinds of stuff, before he died he had a sawmill at that time. Before that he framed houses and had a car lot. He had the car lot in the 60s. When he had one that wouldn't run he would pull it to his house and park it in the woods. Most were complete cars he had , He had a row of about 10 60s' era Galaxies . He also had a fridge panel van he said I could have which I never got
. He had rows and rows of others like panel 40s and 50s chevys , a lot of cars from the 50s like the crown victorias. He probably had over a 100 and many had never had never had any parts taken off. That didn't include the truck cabs and front ends. I got some slick parts from him for free. He use to buy wrecked trucks and make trailers out of them. He would buy them for 50-75 sell the engines for about 100 and the trailer he made for 150. Well after he passed away his wife got tired of them and had ALL of them crushed on the spot and hauled off.
I've heard of others who had dealerships in the 50's/60's who did the same thing...if it didn't run, they'd drag it into the field behind the building & there it sat.willy3486 wrote:I had a uncle like that. Just crazy.
I had a site bookmarked on my old computer that showed a bunch of 50's cars in a field like that, behind a little building. Everything was all overgrown & most of the year, you could barely make out the outline of the cars.
If I recall, developers moved in there & had their way...now it's all houses.
