Fridge is almost running again

Post by f100fordguy »

Been workin on the Y Block all winter and is finally almost back together, Got to finish painting the block and set valve lash next week and I should be ready to hear it roar back to life again. Bored it out .060, got block decked line honed and cleaned up. Moly rings, new pistons and bearings. Isky F-300 cam and lifters, New valves. Had heads surfaced. new valve springs. Ported heads. Painting it up with a nice new coat of gloss black paint, red on valve covers. Will post pictures once I get paint all finished. Cant wait to bring it down to next SS again with a motor that will actually hold together in one piece this time

Good news is it ran on test bench for a few minutes. Bad news broke a few of the old rockers. Waiting on my new 1.54 stock rockers and new shafts to hopefully fix the last of the bugs. Shakes real good at idle, was well worth all the work. Hope to get some pix or a video of it running. :)
