Just words Wyatt, words can be changed to suit your beliefs. might I suggest "I rarely drink from a bottle but will if I have the need"
To good a song to throw away for just one word

When I hear Rascal Flatts, I tell my wife. It's the Vise-Grip Boys. To me they sound like someone put vise-grips on their, well you get the picture.
Kieth Urben, What's with the greasy hair look. Not true country either.
I agree with you on Taylor and Underwood also. What ever happened to true coutry w/ songs that have stories. Hell, I just saw the Doobie Brothers on CMT. Posers. Can't make it in their field anymore so they cross over w/ what they call country.
This is why I've been listening to bluegrass.
I could listen to Rhonda Vincent all day.

"I get drunk in the mornin - get stoned in the afternoon"
It's not new - Charlie Daniels is classic country now and there it is too.
I for one like Taylor Swift's voice - not my kind of country but she can sing. Some of her stuff is a little more old school too.
I also like Carrie Underwood (and she is cute as hell, lol).
They are much better than the Tim McGraw song of the week - he had some really good stuff but his newer stuff all sounds like the same song - same with Kenny Chesney & Trace Atkins.
I never tire of Sara Evans - listening (or looking) she BTW is great live and looks better even in person if that is possible.
I love Allison Krauss since Bluegrass was mentioned.
Here in the Omaha metro you can pick up 96.1 & 98.1 from Lincoln and the 2 local country stations, Kat 103 & Twister 93.3 - they are all 4 top 40 bubble gum country. Get this - the 2 in Omaha are both owned by the same company and are pretty much the same - what are these idiots thinking?
So in town I listen to Classic Rock CD 105. They have they're issues too though;
Queen is NOT rock it's pop and weird at that "I want to ride my bicycle" - SERIOUSLY here?
We're an American Band by Grand Funk is NOT a good song - was never a good song and still shouldn't be over played just because one of the lines is "3 young chicitas in Omaha.
They could back off the KISS - makeup is better than the music and neither is good.
I like Jackson Browne but "The Load Out/Stay is NOT his only song and there are better ones.
I get some Salvation on Saturdays, the Country Station out of Columbus Ne plays a decent mix, plays Rick Jackson's Country Hall of Fame from 9 - 12:15. I can pick up this station 25 miles out.
I am hoping there is something good down by Tabor - since Sidney Ia is only about 20 miles south and is a Rodeo town I might get lucky.

Several good points in your response Greg, My first exposure to music was in the mid fifties. I got a "rocket radio" crystal receiver it had a ground and an earpiece and picked up the strongest AM station, anybody remember them? Back on point I like some of most kinds of music much like Greg posted above. I do draw the line at Disco and rap though.
As my dad used to say, somewhere there was a horse that died a painful death from terminal constipation due to missing a key part of its anatomy.
rap is NOT music;
it is a form of disturbance deliberately inflicted on others by immature, bratty freaks.
You notice that the EVERY pane of glass in the car open and the volume so high that the only possible purpose is to make sure everybody else hears it is the only way it's played?
This only being done to be intrusive - period.
I have however discovered that Cherry Bombs, the pipes on my Harley with the appropriate application of throttle seems to acquire a rather pleasing reaction from the rap player.

I never was a big fan of Country music, but my kid the speed metal band member , has changed my point of view. About a year or so ago he inexplicably took up bluegrass, and now has mastered banjo and Mandolin as well as the guitar. He plays Doc Watson songs constantly. So then I heard about this little know songwriter from Austin Tx. Now I am Hooked.
