LMC Trucks?

Since I live in Charlotte have been going up to NPD for the parts relating to my 67 Mustang renovation. Prices have been reasonable and the service good. I grabbed a catalog for the 64 F100 renovation and skimmed over the weekend needing a shift collar (want to stay with 3 on the tree). Found it for $103.

It was suggested to me to check out LMC Trucks which I did. Same shift collar (I presume) $30. Looks like the same part to me but figure something must be wrong. I've liked the ability to go into NPD and get what I need but for $70 saved, I'll order and ship.

Dennis Carpenters site listed for $110.

Anyone with experience using LMC?

i've bought some stuff from LMC and it's worked out. I've learned that the rubber pieces aren't that good compared to other venders. I've done ok with chrome emblems and visors, and some other things but not as far real hardware.

He'll have what you need in good condition. I'd agree that a $70 difference in price would raise a flag with me as well.

I've used LMC (I don't have to pay for shipping since I'm close to them) and have found most of their parts are very good. I don't recommend the rubber parts. My experience is the same as everyone here, looks good but you can't close the doors! I haven't used the patch panels so don't know about those. On a positive note, LMC has sponsored Slick Stock the last two times and probably will in 2012.

LMCs best product is their catalog, good for parts reference! I bought a shift collar from them and the groove for the shift tube was out of tolerance, not deep enough for the tab on the shift tube to fit. a half hour with a file and several "magic" words later it worked.

i have bought stuff from LMC more than once... some items good and some not, the LAST thing i bought from them was a floor mat for my 63, i bought the MIP mat for a high hump the box was from ACC... said high hump but it turns out it does not fit, i think the box was mis-marked. were going to try it in Daves new 64 which has a low hump

I've had mixed experience with LMC. They are a catalog company, and are not really enthusiasts like Flashback Tom, Rick at Carolina Classics or even Dennis Carpenter. You should run any potential purchase by Tom, because he's not afraid to tell you what's good and what's not even if he doesn't sell it. I'll gladly pay a couple extra bucks to him and know it will work than risk having a problem and paying to ship it back. You buy from Tom and the installation advice is usually included free.

Got a rubber floor mat from LMC about 3 years ago and its starting to crack by the gas pedal .

Purchased a carb to pump fuel line from LMC and it came nothing like the original. Ended up bending one myself.

I got a shift collar for my 64 about a year ago from LMC and it fit perfect. Just had to paint it to match the interior. However, I got chrome bumpers from them for the same truck and am very disappointed in those. They do not fit like they should, especially the front one, and the chrome is very fragile. The rear one is already cracking and peeling away from the right end. The guage of the steel in those bumpers seems to be less than original and they just aren't very strong.
